Here's something to take us out of sabaw-ness when classes come back. Please read up!

Industrial Revolution (pp. 522-534)

1. What conditions paved the way for industrialization in Britain? How did the new technological advances change industries and people's way of life? 
2. What problems did industrialization create?
3. What new economic theories were developed in an attempt to provide solutions to the problems created by industrialization? (Smith, Ricardo, Malthus, Owen, Fourier, and Marx)
4. What problems does a laissez-faire system perpetuate? 
5. What is socialism?
6. Why was Marx's socialist theory a failure?
7. In what way did laissez-faire and socialism sustain social inequalities? 

That's it for Histo.

Don't forget to:
1) read the short stories in the Lit manual...not sure but I heard we need it...Bans, please confirm :)
2) continue thinking up titles for the Grammar compilation

hey iii-3! gk build is this saturday, dec. 15. please be in school by 6:30 a.m. we will be leaving by 7:00 so that we can be there by 8 a.m. sharp you are allowed to bring cellphones but as much as possible, please don't bring other valuables. wear jeans, rubber shoes, and a shirt that you're willing to get dirty in.  transpo will already be provided for so please don't make others wait for you.

here are the things that you will need for the build:

- walis ting ting
- garbage bags
- dustpan
- rubber gloves (just in case)
- paintbrushes  (no. 2 and 3)
- white latex gloss

don't forget to bring your own lunch. we will not be allowed to make any other stopover.
